Vacation Reminders

Your Pets:

• Did you leave an adequate supply of food and instructions on how much and what times the pet is fed?
• Did you leave food dishes out with the supply of food?
• Did you leave treats? Provide instructions on how many/when to provide?
• Did you leave the toys available, and instructions on favorite toy etc?
• Did you leave personal care items, i.e. Brushes, Combs, Nail Clippers out?
• Did you leave a list of rooms to be closed/blocked, where your pet should not be?
• Did you provide your sitter with a list of your pets hiding places?
• Did you leave paper towels/plastic bags for cleaning messes?
• Did you leave enough Cat Litter, instructions on how frequently to scoop/change.
• Did you tell your sitter where to put dirty litter etc. until garbage day?
• Did you leave a carrier for transport in an emergency?
• Did you leave collars/leashes? Did you ensure they are properly fitted? Did you leave a spear in case of breakage?
• Did you leave instructions/supplies for cleaning cages?
• Did you notify your vet that you are away, provide information about the sitter to the vet in case of emergency?
• Did you notify any neighbours you are away, inform them that a sitter will be visiting?
• Did you complete all forms relevant to behaviour/medications/nutrition/veterinary authorization etc.?

Your Home:

• Did You Remember to leave a list of local emergency contacts?
• Did you leave your property insurance information?
• Should the sitter expect other people to be entering the premises? Who?
• Did you provide security codes for alarm / Security clearance  letter with on site personnel?
• Did you provide an extra set of keys? Or are they obtainable from a neighbour?
• Did you provide a list of plants to be watered? (Which ones, how frequently etc.)
• Where should your sitter put your mail? Newspapers? (If not cancelled)
• Did you leave a list of lights to be turned on/off, or set timers? Did you leave extra light bulbs?
• What curtains/blinds should be left open/kept closed?
• Did you lock all windows and non-primary doors?
• Did you let your sitter know when garbage / recycling days are?
• Did you show your sitter where your fuse panel is? Did you leave spare fuses?
• Did you instruct your sitter on heating/air conditioning equipment to be turned off/on?
